A new drama at a wrong timing
The girl who can see smells.
This is the title of the new Korean drama that I had randomly decided to watch during lunch today. I know it's really close to Finals examinations and I shouldn't be doing this but watching drama during study breaks acts as a form of incentive for me. I feel motivated to study after relieving my brain from all the information overload.
Before I begin, you need to know that I had originally found the title really absurd and for me to start watching this drama from start to end is really unexpected.
The first episode begins with me realising that the lead actress is none other than Shin Sekyung whom I didnt get a good impression of in a previous drama I watched. Her character in this drama is very different from the one that I watched her act as prior to this. The drama is really dramatic but in an intriguing manner. An oversight by the murderer leads to the murder of the innocent sister of the male lead. WOAH, what?
The male lead bears hatred to the murderer who killed his sister and he becomes a policeman, works hard in hope of being promoted into the homicide group.
The male lead encounters the female lead while he was trying to nab a robber.
Interestingly, the female lead sees smell and the male lead can't feel pain!
Such a comical start to the drama and we see shin sekyung's bubbly acting :O
Looking forward to episode 2!

I'm probably one of the most irresponsible bloggers you've ever met.. Yes, I forgot to post about the last episode of Coffee Prince.Yes, I haven't updated since... Erm... I'm not too sure and I can't check cause I'm typing this on my phone now... (Yet another evidence to prove my irresponsible image) I had to rush out of my house earlier on because stupid me left packing to the last half an hour.. Well, I didn't realise there were so many things to pack!! I was also trying to print notes and you know, the best part goes to the empty staplers that I own. I had to pack my newly printed notes, training stuff, clothes for a sleepover and artsy deco stuff. Gosh. Why the hell did I think that I could manage all these within 30minutes?! Best part #02: I left my house without a sleeping bag so... Cold hard floor tonight? Hahaha! Alright, let's skip all the in between banter. I've been wanting to blog for quite a long time already and I just kept forgetting to. There are a bunch of things that happened recently and Some things I can't wait to let y'all know as well! Okay, so in case you people have really been following my commentary on CP, I should properly end it now. My overall comments for CP: Coffee Prince is really one of the Korean dramas you people should watch! :) I like how it was directed and the show was able to easily manipulate my feelings! This was well accompanied by the sincere and genuine acting effort put in my the actors and actresses! There are numerous dramas where the first episode is full of bs and bore people to death but I assure you that CP is interesting from the first to the last episode! Alright and immediately after that drama, I wanted to watch another production by the same actress but unfortunately, the next show I watched wasn't able to grab my attention as well as CP did so I shall not mention it. I decided to explore abit of J-drama so I watched Hana Kimi (J version) and instantly fell in love with the acting by ikuta who acted as nakatsu shuichi in the show! I've finished that drama as well and now I'm following up with another drama ikuta acted in - honey and clover (J-drama)! Hehe :) _____ Alright, there's another thing that I want to tell y'all but I really want to dedicate an entire post for this piece of news so I'll tell y'all in the next post which I hope won't take too long... _____ Just so you know, I am writing this blog post on the mrt while I'm on the way to school cause I forgot to bring my book to read on the train... :O Yeap, so I'll blog again soon! I apologise for the wait hahaha! Seeyall soon! Labels: Smilez everyday... On Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 1:05 PM One down, one to go
CP Episode #11 and #12We recall that at the end of episode 10, han kyul had decided (after much much much difficulties) to accept eun chan as his male lover. Eun chan had also decided to reveal the truth about her gender to han kyul but somehow, she couldn't find the right timing and ha rim had taken matters into his own hands by revealing it to han kyul before she did. Han kyul's explosive anger and shock at eun chan's betrayal of trust leaves eun chan scared and apologetic but she refuses to give up because she trusts that han kyul will forgive her. On the other side, han seong claims that he has already gotten rid of the feelings he had for eun chan and he begs for yoo ju to stay with him. Yoo ju is hesitant and feels betrayed for the fact that she no longer holds reigns over the number one place in his heart. When I first heard her argument with han kyul in her apartment, I thought it sounded selfish and ridiculous but if you look at the bigger picture, they were together for 10 long years and for the long peaceful equilibrium to be wavered suddenly and the impossible to actually occur, her fear is justifiable. Han seong, eun chan, yoo ju and all the coffee prince cafe employees try to talk sense into han kyul hoping that they could forgive eun chan. At the end of episode 12, we see that han kyul has decided to forgive eun chan after much thought and reason. He feels that he is unable to live without her. It was quite funny when han kyul nearly pulled eun chan into the guys toilet at the park haha. All seems well for han kyul and eun chan but han seong is devastated that yoo ju left despite him begging her to stay. Later, he finds out that she did not fly to America with DK but he cannot find her at their usual places. This is also the time when he realised that he didn't know her that well afterall because even though they've been together for 10 years, he has no idea where her mother lives and the contact numbers of all her close friends. Han kyul tries to console him as well. Okay, time for episode #13~~~ I really like watching coffee being brewed! Labels: Smilez everyday... On Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:42 AM When will he find out the truth?
CP Episode 10In this episode, we see Han kyul unable to cope with the fact that he is in love with eun chan whom he believes is a male. He says things that hurt eun chan which in turn, hurts him. On the other hand, han seong realises that he is undeniably in love with eun chan as well. Yoo ju doesn't react as dramatically as I thought she would but she offers han seong options. Yoo ju is willing to put down her work for han seong but she knows han seong is already in love with eun chan and she feels that she would end up choosing work over love again. I find it heartbreaking to watch how han seong knows that han kyul and eun chan loves each other but he is unable to confess to eun chan about his own feelings. He seems to have decided to just watch over eun chan and contain his feelings for her. Eun chan is devastated because she loves han kyul but she is unable to reveal to him her identity. She used to believe that she could just reveal the truth to him later on but now, it has become quite impossible because she is fearful that han kyul would be very upset at her and she would lose the precious relationship they have. Both of them are evidently in great pain being unable to love each other. On a side note, now all of the coffee prince employees know that eun chan is a girl and she is in love with han kyul. However, in the coffee prince cafe, only han kyul doesn't know that truth yet. The episode ends with han kyul being unable to throw away the thoughts of affection he has for eun chan and kissing her regardless of the consequences he has to face. He has decided to accept this love between them which he has categorised as love between two males. I miss watching eun chan do silly things and being adorable because in the recent episodes, she has been suffering the tortures of love and matured so much.... Labels: Smilez everyday... CP Episode 8 And eun chan does it again! She just freaking admitted to han kyul that she likes him and she knows that he still sees her as a male! How can anyone be so courageous?? Although this kind of news is supposed to disgust han kyul, I bet he is secretly feeling happy. Ever since then, han kyul has been acting really strangely!! :O Holy freak, han seong kissed eun chan!!!!??!! Now that's awkward! Holy crap! She has already fell in love with han kyul dude! I bet if you accepted her earlier, you might have the chance of giving her your love. But, fate is as cruel as it can get. :( The episode ends with han kyul forcing eun chan to be his sworn brother! :O I am curious as to how han seong decides to settle his relationship with both eun chan and his current girlfriend yoo ju. I'm also curious as to what han kyul will do to express his love for eun chan HAHA! :) Let's watch on! Labels: Smilez everyday... On Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:03 PM When your heart flutters :)
CP Episode 7Oh My Goodness. Right at the beginning of this episode is GREAT DISASTROUS TENSION! :O!! Han seong called eun chan while she was out shopping for books with han kyul and the clueless eun chan just caused great tension!!I SWEAR she is damn blur! Han seong usually writes songs and sings for yoo ju and now he wants eun chan to be his listener too and this is really suspicious HAHAHA! He was surprised and taken aback when she told him that she was with han kyul. I think he must have thought he accidentally took time away from her when she could have been spending the talking time with han kyul. His situation is so so so similar to eun chan's before she decided to give up liking him! OMG. On the other hand, han kyul was just upset to hear that she was on the phone with han seong. :O So... eun chan got kicked out of the restaurant and somehow han kyul is regretting his decision. Eun chan was in a bad mood so she spent quite some time with han seong. This resulted in him unable to spend time with yoo ju which made her jealous and a little upset. We see that han kyul is happy to see eun chan and he just looks like a weird ahjussi for smiling and grinning at eun chan gobbling down sweet and sour pork. :O! Hehe, so eun chan and han kyul made up and are drunk.. :O SO.., eun chan is back at coffee prince! Han kyul's grandma is sick and eun chan went over to han kyul's house to cheer him up. This episode ended with a kiss by eun chan! WOW, made my heart flutter~~~ OMG!! Ahhh, I saw the preview for the next episode and I think it's going to be greatttttttttttttt! Literally can't stop watching coffee prince omg!! Labels: Smilez everyday... at 1:21 PM Fated or not?
CP Episode 6 This might just be my favourite episode thus far! :) It began with eun chan dressed up as a pretty and pampered female for once. Her fairytale date with han seong started out really nice but then it went down hill... :( There is finally a great revelation among the main 4 characters which causes a tip in the peaceful equilibrium. In the beginning, only han seong knew but now, eun chan is let in on the big secret too. She expresses a degree of surprise which is similar to that of han seong's when he realised that the manager eun chan had been telling him about was none other than his cousin, han kyul. This is quite interesting because throughout the entire show so far, as audience, we had the privilege of watching the 4 protagonists interacting with each other without really knowing their individual identities and relations to each other. Now, when another one of the 4 protagonist, eun chan, finds out about their relations, it adds spice to the story. Furthermore, later in the episode, when yoo ju surprise visited han seong, she found out about eun chan's identity as well. Here we see the great contrast to the beginning of the story. Initially, only one out of the four knew about the big picture but now, only one out of the four is still clueless. Anyway, it was really heartbreaking to see eun chan so dejectedly leaving the art exhibition. Han seong, being so apologetic and all about her meeting han kyul wanted to make it up to her so badly. We could see that he was so flustered too. I can't believe that eun chan had so much courage to admit to han seong that she liked him and was really disappointed at the art exhibition. This shows how much she treasures their friendship and that part really made me tear and laugh at the same time. Though it was awkward for han seong to find out that she had a crush on him, he was relieved that the tension between them was gone. Yoo ju is slightly jealous at how han seong is so smiley with eun chan around and this couple really handles it in a light-hearted and cute manner :) I cannot stand it HAHAHA. On the other hand, han kyul starts to realise that he might have feelings for eun chan whom he still believes is a guy! This part is really hilarious because he gauges his feelings using a hug and right at the end of the episode, he forces eun chan to an embrace. HAHAHA! :) Imagine if han seong admits to eun chan that he likes her too~ Wah, my heart would melt~ Fate decides our relationships and our journey through life! If it was meant to be, it was meant to be! Or in this case, the script writers are the ones that decide the fates of these people luh... HAHA Labels: Smilez everyday... at 12:07 PM Nothing beats eating macs and watching k drama
CP Episode 5 After thoughts (since I was eating macs and didn't get a chance to type my comments along the way) The script has successfully added the scandalous touch to this episode when han seong called eun chan and told her that ssulja was missing her and he was missing her too. The air of uncertainty between the two of them spices things up! On the other hand, we see that the relationship between him and yoo ju is still quite sweet at the moment. Upon knowing that she was sick, he rushed over to see his girlfriend and even stayed the night. At the same time, yoo ju keeps her distance from han kyul. This is evident when she kinda chased han kyul away after he fed her some mustard soup (what?) and instead, allowed han seong to stay the night with her. Eun chan is obviously the lucky female lead in this show because she seems to be garnering the attention from both the male and the 2nd male leads. The episode also portrays her as being attracted to both of the actors. Nowadays I really like hearing han seong talk. o_o #randomfact The coffee prince shop employees go on a group retreat for some group bonding session. OHOHOH, min yeop found out that eun chan's a female so he acts ridiculous and obvious by 'protecting' her in various ways such as helping her carry heavy things and coming in between any guy who is too chummy with her. It ends with eun chan all dolled up for a art museum exhibition with han seong. She trips and falls into the arms of han seong... :O!!! WOW. I'm looking forward to the development between han seong and eun chan!! :O!! P.S. Take me to Church appears to be very popular in the recent times! Why uh? Labels: Smilez everyday... at 2:14 AM The peaceful waves will probably be disturbed by the passing boat
CP Episode #04Han kyul was being really harsh about the coffee bean incident until he finally found out that it was not eun chan's fault. Yoo ju went to console eun chan and they had a nice little session. Woah, eun chan almost revealed that she was a female/ is gay cause she said how she used to like the art teacher cause he was handsome and dashing. It turns into a funny "let's all hit eun chan" session where han kyul, the interior designer and eun sae's pursuer all bully her. My goodness, she went to look for han seong!! OMG!! Han seong even teased her and asked if it was just ssulja she missed. :O!! HAHAHA, I like it how he suggested using guy X and girl Y like how she did for his case!! Han seong finds out that eun chan likes her employer. :O!! I'm slowly beginning to think that han seong and eun chan who treat each other like good friends are going to end up causing some kind of misunderstanding! Sekali yoo ju gets jealous sia! It's a nice scandalous conversation they've got there. Han seong enjoys eun chan's company and he even told her to call him anytime. GOSH. Highly misleading. Okay.. No Sun Ki - In charged of side menu Jin Ha Rim - Interior designer Hwang Min Yeop - eun sae's pursuer Emo scene where han seong serenades yoo ju with a new song he created by she says that it makes her feel sad wondering if it'll bring her pain in the future. This is followed by a damn hilarious scene that cracks me up HAHAHHA. The cafe employees and han kyul are eating in a korean bbq shop and ha rim throws a piece of meat on the floor. To sun ki's horror, eun chan picks it up and stuffs it into her mouth. OMG, min yeop gets drunk and tries to kiss everybody and you can literally see terror in han kyul's eyes as min yeop crawls towards him. min yeop kisses eun chan on the lips and she reacts violently, throwing cabbages into his face. This garners mixed reactions from others. Sun ki claimed that min yeop's a pervert for going for the lips. Ha rim complains that eun chan's his and is surprised when han kyul exclaimed that eun chan's his instead. FINALLY it's the opening day of the cafe! Wait... red and green? Christmas uh... Heart shaped balloons? Valentine's day uh?? OH MY GOODNESS han seong came to congratulate han kyul but is spotted by eun chan!!! WILL HER IDENTITY BE EXPOSED?? Alright so now han seong knows that she likes han kyul. OMG~~~ They damn cute can haahaha!! This kind of friendship's really cool. Wa this asshole han kyul offered to give eun chan a ride but pang her immediately after yoo ju wanted to meet up. Wa I cannot stand this sia. I'm falling for yoo ju too. She's like the perfect girlfriend material sia. Pretty + talented + cute ways of communicating. I cannot stand it. No wonder han kyul likes her too. The way han kyul and yoo ju interacts makes me feel as if they're a couple too. GOSH. This yoo ju is one lucky girl I swear. Why are they playing basketball siaaaaaa. So close to getting exposed.. Now both guys are talking about yoo ju. LOL WOW and now they are talking about eun chan OMG!~ This episode ended quite dully in my opinion. Han kyul is asleep on the couch and eun chan blows at his face which accidentally wakes him up. _____ After thoughts... 4 episodes into the show and it's flowing well unlike the first episode. There is more interaction between the employees of coffee prince cafe as shown from the constant bullying of min yeop and the basketball match. But sun ki remains mysterious. I have this slight hunch that he'd be the first the find out that eun chan's a girl. It is also revealed in this episode that eun chan likes both han seong and han kyul. It's quite funny how all the main 4 kinda like each other! :O I feel that the friendship between han seong and eun chan is really nice. I can't see him as her boyfriend and instead more of a big brother! :) Yoo ju is still perfect girlfriend material and there hasn't been anything bad about her that's being revealed to viewers yet. Somehow I feel that in the later episodes, they might change her personality or certain actions to make the audience dislike her. :O Then, her perfect girlfriend image would be shattered. And yet again, eun chan is able to keep her identity a secret. *applause* I'm looking forward to han kyul falling in love with eun chan :) When you realise the charm a person has, it's difficult not to notice it the next time you see the person. CP Episode #03Han kyul seems to have a really bad relationship with his father. Holy crap so han seong and yoo ju are back together!! Glad that they've become sweet again :O Omg, han kyul will be so sad that han seong and yoo ju are back together!!!! HAHAHA, dramatic scene where han kyul helps eun chan!! :O He really treats eun chan like a younger bro sia! I feel that this kinds of thing always happens - When you're feeling down and this particular person makes it all better at the right time. Goodness, a hobby and invention of the past sia!! Old records!! :) The kimchi fried rice looks damn freaking good :O!!! Wow and eun chan has effectively got han kyul to share with her about his crush on yoo ju! :) eun chan has this magic that gets people to confide in him! I really like eun chan's voice + acting! I can't get enough of her in this drama!!! I don't understand why eun chan doesn't tell him that she's a female??!?!?! But it's quite funny how she is frustrated at his actions. Where did she find the paper and crayon to write those stuff siaaaaa! :) Finally, they are beginning to start the cafe by doing market research! Omg, it's abit over now... han seong and yoo ju are practically flirting at his work place :O Woah, I think eun chan is really interested in han seong omg! Wow, meeting a creepy stalker-sounding interior designer who seems to be interested in eun chan! HAHA! He has a nice voice wor. Should eun sae's pursuer be appearing at a place like this? He technically robbed han kyul's girlfriend before sia. Han kyul invited yoo ju to paint the cafe a mural. I feel that yoo ju shouldn't lead him on like that... :/ They are good friends but knowing that he actually likes her, she shouldn't be letting him do all those things. Omgosh, 20 bags of 2 kg became 20 bags of 20 kg. That is a crazy big mistake... I'm really sure it wasnt eun chan's fault :( Sian.. Actually yoo ju is quite a nice person... She even tried to comfort eun chan!!! The episode ends with eun chan sniffing and walking away. :( _____ After thoughts... In this episode we see han kyul still unable to let yoo ju go even though she has reconciled with han seong. I predict that this might lead to future problems such as han seong getting jealous etc! I'm getting really excited about the re-designing of the cafe and the recruitment drive! Everybody is working hard to build up the cafe! The show also introduces to us the future employees working under han kyul. Yet again, there's this roller coaster ride of emotions because in the beginning of the episode we see how the relationship between han kyul and eun chan improved when eun chan slept over but then near the end there was severe minus in points when eun chan claimed to have made a mistake in the ordering of coffee beans. (which wasn't even her fault in the first place) There's also a tinge of eun chan showing interest in han seong when she asked for his number which connects the 'relationship' between all the main 4 actors and actresses. I'm looking forward to the recruitment of the waffle shop guy and how all of them start to make coffee once the cafe opens!! :) An unspoken boundary... Labels: Smilez everyday... at 7:32 PM I tried to hurt you but I only ended up hurting myself...
CP Episode #02The episode starts with them negotiating terms for the fake lover contract. I'm really sure the fake ID is going to be one of the clues that reveal her female identity in the future. Funny how han kyul doesn't check first.. Eun chan is damn cute when she plays on han kyul's car. :) she really acts like a little kid sia! But... how long is this bridge that they're traveling on? Why is it never ending? HAHAHA Eun chan and her mother don't act like how a normal mother and daughter should act. Eun chan takes on the parental role as she runs around doing all kinds of part time job in order to earn the money the family needs to survive. However, her mother acts like the kid in the family who gets distracted by material goods easily and spends all their heard earn money away! Eun chan seems to be interested in ssulja's dad, han seong... She is able to spot him easily! Wow, and they start a rather deep conversation!! han seong actually talks about his failed relationship to eun chan! So anyway, it turns out that yoo ju ditched han seong 2 years back and han seong doesn't know whether he still likes her. wow wow wow and suddenly there's a kiss scene by the second male and second female lead!! In the dark + without closing the main door properly! So, I guess he still likes her. Somehow they have a very cute way of communicating! I like the part when yoo ju slowly reaches out with her foot to tap han seong's foot. "I told you to go and you really went" Somehow, this makes me feel so sad. Before you know it, Eun chan is preparing to go meet han kyul for his first contracted duty. Eun chan was late and when she arrived, she saw han kyul screaming "YOU HOODLUM" into the phone. HAHAHA, he was so damn agitated! Han kyul felt that eun chan was poorly dressed for the occasion so he got her a suit and they started to act crazy after that... HAHAHHAHA. I recall this scene from roommate sia!!! Finally, it's showtime! DAMN FUNNY SIA! han kyul asked eun chan to turn her head in order to act like they are kissing but she turned her head in the same direction!!!!!! HHAHAHA When was being attacked by the lady, eun chan ran off without helping han kyul hahaha What the heck are they doing man!!! Poking their noses against each other??? LOLLOL, afterwards they didnt even have to do anything. It's damn funny how han kyul interacts with eun chan!! HAHAHA. Omg, she practically gave him 2 tight slap on his forehead sia!!! Actually han seong looks abit like Tablo! LOL If i were han seong, I would be really frustrated too because he's trying so hard to hurt yoo ju yet he seems to be the one getting hurt. eun chan probably called him to talk to him and hear his voice... :) and.. he lllllllllllikes it. Omgosh, the grandma hangs her purse around her neck!! so cute :O!!! LOL, episode 2 ended so dramatically!! Poor eun chan and han kyul are faced with problems!!! _____ Some after words.. In episode 2, we see more of the lovey dovey scenes between han seong and yoo ju as well as how depressed and sour their relationship has become. It is now apparent that both of them still have feelings for each other but as to whether they got back together, the show has not revealed further in this episode. I really like how natural the actor and actress accommodate to each other. They really look like they are in a relationship! The way they communicate with each other is so sweet! On the other hand, we watch as eun chan and han kyul grow fonder of each other. As usual, eun chan can easily grab the audience attention with the hilarious things she does and han kyul's reaction to her is definitely something that audience look forward to watching! Overall the second episode is proceeding in the proper male to female lead and second male to second female lead manner. Then we have the happy scenes that are carefully balanced out with the emo scenes. At the same time, not forgetting about the cafe story that the whole show revolves around! :) _____ Okay, goodnight! Labels: Smilez everyday... On Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 11:20 PM Something new that I'm trying out
I've always read reviews about korean drama and I like how certain critiques have their funny way of talking about a particular drama so I'm going to try writing reviews and watching entire series without skipping any scenes! :) It's going to be tough cause I have this bad habit of skipping parts which I think is boring. For this first try, I'm going to go with "coffee prince" because I haven't watched it yet and I think it had good reviews last time? Let's see :) Warning! Spoiler alert! _____ CP Epsiode #01 The female lead is apparently making a delivery on a motorcycle... Why she look so noob sia? The motorists around her like overtaking her while she looks like she just bought the motorcycle a moment ago and is playing with it on the road! HAHAHAHA! Even the ahjummas don't believe she's a girl o_o so I guess she's supposed to look completely like a guy... Oh hoho, she's staring at the guy's organs (lol, this was an anime translation that I found funny so i began using it!) LOL. What the hecK? And he actually knows that she (he) was staring at him... Damn shuai karate kick but confirm stunt double hahha Somehow the transitions are damn fast. A minute ago she was sending deliveries and now she's a taekwondo teacher o_o Now they're fighting in a cafe and it's quite cool cause the coffee in the cups havent spill yet. HAHAHAHA the jajangmyun battle damn funny! Really got me laughing when eun chan poured the drink into her last bowl of noodles. the drawing is so cute :) Wa the burden mum... Eun chan sitting on the floor and going AGHHHHHH!!! so cute :) wasiao, animal abuse sia...! Poor dog must be tired! Then comes a random man with his erm.. ex-girlfriend? I'm assuming cause it looks that way. Oh but they're like so sweet sia. The girl looks like some model material.. o_o LOLLOL what was that? The girl randomly picked up a hat and the guy just paid for it like nothing happened and continued with the conversation when the girl obviously was distracted omg. wait i don't get it sia. Han kyul wants the girl to get back with the random guy from before but somehow it seems like he is interested in her sia. Maybe they're just really good friends? LOLLOL A TWIST OF FATE and the male and female lead meets! Wa shit this actress damn funny!! Where's the mirror for the motorcycle sia hahaha sucks to be her, sucks to be poor. OMG, only this random guy knows that she's a girl!!! (kinda) Alright so I'm guessing that this model material girl (MM) and this random guy (RG) used to be a loving couple and somehow the girl left him suddenly which made RG damn sad and depressed. So now, he refuses to forgive her for what she has done. Okay, so the MM girl is called han yoo ju and han kyul likes her though he is good friends with her ex-boyfriend. Ooh, I like the encounter between RG and eun chan. :) Omg, all the match-making girls... Does his parents really want him to marry either one of them?? Okay, so it ended with him asking her(him) to be his lover.. :O _____ Some after show thoughts. I think this RG might be quite an interesting character after all but there is a clear distinction between the main characters and the side characters. Although the transitions are quite random and the show jumps from part to part sometimes, I really liked how the first episode is filmed. It's light-hearted and doesn't jump straight into the coffee shop story. But they presented the cafe as a place that's not that atas. Eun Chan has a close father-daughterly relationship with the shop owner, Mr Hong which isn't elaborated much in the first episode. It's a nice cozy kind of shop :) Go Eun Chan's character is so lovable and cute. Even I'm falling for her! The second female lead is pretty but I think maybe there's something wrong with her personality cause it seems to me like she abandoned the second male lead. Lastly, the male lead, Han Kyul has a very charming personality and omg, when he stands beside Eun Chan, he is like a giant. :O This can be a potentially romantic and sweet gay love story if not for the fact that eun chan's a girl who is very tomboy-ish. Overall, I think it's a good start :) _____ Probably going to watch episode 2 later today. :) Stay tuned~ Bleh~ Labels: Smilez everyday... at 2:06 PM For Charlie
I have been watching Charlie's videos since I was in secondary school, probably three to four years back. It all started when my best friend showed me his videos and I really liked his voice, they way he confidently presents himself infront of a camera and just hearing his thoughts was inspiring. Looking back, I vaguely recall some of the videos he made. There was one about him dyeing his hair red, challenging himself to American accents, FUNSCIENCE and his singing videos. "Then there you were back in my mind again~" I guess what your viewers liked about you then was the random challenges you did and the youthful vibe your videos gave off. As you mentioned in one of your latest videos, "The past couple of years have been transitional for me and I've been doing a lot of... aging, as it's customary for humans" Charlie is growing up and he is trying his best to adapt to it. Personally, I feel really proud of him because he is doing what he likes - making videos and now, films. It was his dream since long ago and he told us that really frankly in one of his videos that he was going to set out to do 5 short films and obviously, they are going to take up aload of his time. Why are people so critical of his contents which I feel ties in nicely with the fact that he is growing up and he isn't Peter Pan, he can't stay as a child forever just to please youtube viewers. While he is growing up, we are growing up too and I feel that somehow I can relate even better to his videos. I feel that he has taken his videos to a more personal level compared to a few years back. He is now sharing his dreams, his fears and even his concerns with us. I feel that Charlie speaks about some of things I think about most of the time. This resonates in one of his videos "My Greatest Fear" and I couldn't help but feel so surprised how much I agreed with his thoughts. I've watched Charlie for at least 3 years to know that his videos can take some time to be uploaded and because of that, I don't check his channel super frequently for new videos. But once in a while when I want to watch a youtube video and it's not about korean stuff or for my studies, charlieissocoollike is what I type into the youtube search bar. All in all, I want to say how much I really appreciate the effort you've put into your videos and films. You used to have more than a million people watching your videos but now, you know who are the ones who really see you for who you are and support you no matter what you do. I believe one day, more people will appreciate your content just like we do so don't give up what you're doing! :) Thank you for being who you are. For Charlie. Labels: Smilez everyday... What would you do if you had the ability to remember every single part of your life?I just watched a video by CBS news called "endless memory" which is a documentary about people in the world who have perfect memory. They would have absolutely no problem in recounting the events of any particular day / date you state. According to one of the 5 subjects, the ability to remember comes naturally like an image in her head. Apparently, all of them displayed signs of having obsessive-compulsive disorder in various manners such as organising their shoes or clothes in a specific way or having to wash their keys immediately after dropping them on the floor. I think the most striking discovery was the possible correlation between having perfect memory and developing relationship issues. 4 out of 5 subjects were single and the only one who was married actually remarried 3 times. Wouldn't it be so helpful if you could remember everything that's being taught to you or studied? There would be no difficulties in the academic portion of our lives and you can even hold interesting and long conversations with other people. You know, we've been exposed to this theory that as long as we remember and study the horrible things that have happened in the past, we would be able to learn from past mistakes and avoid same experiences. Is that really true? Then again, it's probably really horrible to be able to vividly remember every terrible experience from the past. I'm sure we've all had moments in life that were either too embarrassing or too painful to want to remember. An additional finding was that scientists used to believe that we forget in order to prevent our minds from being too clogged up but after listening to the 5 subjects, their memories are kept in a very organised manner which doesn't affect them the way we thought they would be affected. In fact, a man with perfect memory even claimed that he finds joy categorising every memory. This actually goes to prove how theories are just theories without scientific evidences. Such an amazing ability if fallen into the wrong hands would result in great tragedies. "With great power comes great responsibility!" - Voltaire (not Uncle Ben) I'm still puzzled why these people do not use their gift to spam knowledge? Does it mean that they do not have photographic memories? #Mindblownmoment Labels: Smilez everyday... On Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:13 PM It gives me inspiration to know how other people my age after working so hard to fulfill their dreams :)
If I don't type this now, I don't know when I might find the inspiration to blog about this. Just minutes ago, I finished watching the fourth episode of "Mix n match". To give y'all a simple background introduction, YG CEO Yang Hyun-suk likes to hype about the talents in his company by holding knock-out competitions. A year ago, he came up with the programme "Who Is Next (WIN)" where trainees were divided into Team A and Team B. They had to compete throughout the programme for a chance to debut. The losing team would face disbandment or regrouping. So, Webbs has been following this group of trainees in Team B. I've never tried so hard to keep myself updated about a korean band's progress, not to mention, one that hasn't even debut. I believe that just like many other viewers, my heart really goes out to Team B especially their leader, B.I.. Yes, they're young but they have so much energy and so much creativity bursting out of them that I feel people all around the world should watch and listen to. I'll also take this opportunity to express my love for korean rapping. I've watched "Show Me the Money 3 (SMTM3)" in support of Bobby and B.I. as well. Okay, back to Team B... So, YG has decided to play with our hearts and Team B's feelings by putting them through another round of knock-out competition with "Mix N Match". Damn. It really breaks my heart to see the six members struggle with accepting the reality that they might not get to perform together again. After watching 4 episodes of MNM, my love for team B just exploded. Instead of feeling for specific members, this time, I felt so much love for the whole team B! Apart from the usual awe I had for Bobby, B.I. and Jinhwan, I was able to fully enjoy their performance and open my eyes (and ears) to notice the talents and crazy improvements by Yoon Hyeong, Dong Hyuk and Joon Hwae. Team B has grown so much since WIN and I don't think it's fair to attempt separating them. Anyway, the seven out of nine winners of this programme will form the group IKON and debut officially under that name. I cannot wait for IKON to debut. I love their music, I love their dance and I love how they really want this. There's so much passion and hardwork. I really hope all their sweat, blood and tears pay off. IKON will be a team that Webbs supports pre and post debut. :) Come on y'all, hang in there, you're all gonna debut really soon! Throw in your best effort now to impress YG and the world! Y'all told us to "wait for me (y'all)" remember? (It's a song that Team B came up with in return for all the love they received) We're not gonna walk off, we'll wait and we know y'all will give your best shot at it! _____ On a side note, tomorrow Imma be at the New National Stadium to catch the live international friendly match between Japan and Brazil. TURN UP. >:) So excited for tomorrow! But I've gotta last through the day first! No matter what, tomorrow will be a beautiful day~ Dear swollen pinky and bruised thigh, please heal before Wednesday~ PLEASE!! I really want to enjoy training in the beautiful mpsh 5~ Tchoukball's the love, y'all! Labels: Smilez everyday... On Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:57 PM A Beautiful Thursday
In psychology (and probably Geography as well), I learnt that the interpretation of information from our surroundings affects our perception and impressions. Today, the world is a beautiful place~ Many happy events and great company in both yesterday and today have given me a great moral booster. Should I state it all out in chronological order? It all started yesterday when I had a great tchoukball training session. I cannot express how excited I am now that we are training in a indoor court with sticky and shiny flooring. I can jump properly now and it's really helping me with my shots! HEHE~ After being deprived of tchoukball for a week, yesterday's session was an example of how much I love tchoukball~ Only had one lecture today and importantly, I spent it with my bus stop friend :) She's the best thing that's ever happened to me in university, I swear. The rest of the day was reserved for D-time~ I don't regret suggesting to have lunch at that restaurant that serves his favourite tenshin han though I wished they would do something to improve their noodle choices... Hahaha! We watched Rurouni Kenshin without realising that it was a part 2. Funny how right at the beginning he was so enthusiastically telling me about how fantastic the trailer was but half way through he admitted that it was not what he expected hahah. The fight scenes were good in my opinion! :O The inspiration for this blog post came from a heartwarming scene I witness while I was on a bus returning to Tampines. No, it did not happen on the bus. I happened to be staring out the window and I caught sight of an old man pushing his motorcycle at the side of the road. His motorcycle probably broke down and he had no choice but to push it on his own. It was a cruel image because the man was so much smaller in size as compared to his antique-looking huge motorcycle. As my bus drove on, I I managed to witness a beautiful act of kindness. A fellow motorcyclist in red stopped by at the side of the road and approached the old man. :) That man did what I was unable to do and I am so proud of him. HOORAY for the elderly dude! :) To add on to the beautiful day, I met TXY on the bus back home and the kind dude sitting beside her gave up his seat so that I could sit with her! HEHEHE! A wonderful end to a beautiful day indeed! Sometimes, it's all these little things that make life more wonderful that we think it actually is. We just got to open our eyes and our heart to look for these moments! _____ A special announcement for my buddy, Estee who has changed her blogging location from thatanticipation.blogspot.com to thefancyrollick.wordpress.com! We really like the old address as much as you guys do but unfortunately, it was taken. Well, the new name is cool too! :O Looking forward to the Brasil versus Japan on the coming Tuesday~ I've got tickets but not the jerseys... (at the moment) HAHAHA! :) Happy day~ Labels: Smilez everyday... On Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:14 PM I'm serious about school, okay?
Being a university undergraduate means a whole load of independence and I don't think I'm ready for it. :(Even before my freshman year starts, I find myself already steps behind others. It is probably retribution I'm getting for not signing up for any camps and meeting friends or seniors but to be honest, I'm glad I didn't have to attend camps and go through those awkward moments that I've heard of. Apparently, (from what I've heard) most school camps are created for the guys to know the girls. (pardon the lack of a better phrasing) They play games that force the guys and the girls to interact. Some of them can be really awkward. For example, the guy smears some shaving cream onto his face and the girl has to scoop off the cream with a cup in her mouth. I hear that there's even a game where the girl bites onto a small piece of sweet and the guy has to lick the sweet while he's blindfolded. Why do undergraduates have to play these kind of games? Doesn't anyone objects to playing the games? How can these games even help to bring people together? I can totally imagine the awkwardness when you become a senior and then you meet a fellow faculty member and realise that he's the one you played one of those awkward games with. "Hi... I was the one who accidentally licked your lips instead of the sweet, remember?" I'm sure there are some people who feel infuriated having to play those games but why do they go through such pains for? Weird... ______ DId I mention to y'all how impressed I was during the orientation talk? Although it felt more like a literature lecture instead of a welcome talk, just hearing the lecturer... I mean professor (oh wait... was she a Doctor?) speak was quite breathtaking. The topic was Idea of a University. The discussion was elaborated to an extent that the usage of Latin in Universities in the past was brought up. Woah. I want to be like her. Having my brains filled up with ideas and thoughts, being able to express myself so freely and endlessly. Woah. Can I become like that? If I work hard enough, will I be able to inspire others through my speech and my writing? It kind of makes me excited to learn of what'll be in store for me in the next 4 years. Though I know it ain't going to be easy, I would like to give it a try. I know my usage of English sucks and my standard of writing needs some improvement but some day, I'm going to be just like her. Slowly but, eventually. This is the time when you look into my eyes and tell me that you can see the sparkles. Yes. Right now. HAHAHAHAHA. But yes. I'm not kidding. And probably 5 years down the road, I might look back or look through this blog and think "wow, I did it. I've really became better at this." Hehe. :) _____ Anyway, an update of my current situation : so far I have managed to only secure 2 out of the 4 modules I bidded for a few days ago and tomorrow round 2 begins. Let's hope I meet the minimum requirement of 4 mods and apart from that, I'm really happy that I've at least secured a spot in the mod of my major (intended major). Alright, tomorrow will be a better day, cheers! My future will be bright. I swear. Labels: Smilez everyday... On Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 10:08 PM The bear goes to Japan!
Alright, so where should I begin? I went on a "short" vacation trip to Japan with my good buddy, Xinyue from July 1st to 14th. The decision was made rather quickly but the whole book-the-tickets-and-pack-our-luggages process took quite some time due to my renewal of passport. Xinyue brought along her newly bought camera and took many amazing photographs which have not been uploaded yet hence, I'm unable to share them with you. (I'm saying this as if I ever upload any pictures onto my blog~) I am not really what's the best way to share with you our adventures so I'm going to just briefly talk about them in the journal/diary entry method. :) Here goes~ 01 July 2014 United Airlines flight from SIN to NRT (pleasant ride except that my bladder was screaming for the wash room every 2 hours) Experience at the airport was pretty overwhelming because we were surrounded by the foreign language. Xy's cousin came to pick us up and we bought our first drinks from the vending machine! Naturally, I went for the milk tea. ROYAL MILK TEA to be precise. Trend #01: It is common for Japanese to purchase from their convenient markets (KOMBINI, eg: 7Eleven) because it ain't expensive) It was a long drive to Chiba and we picked up the two lil brats before having lunch/teabreak/dinner at a sushi restaurant. Afterthat, we made a trip to the supermarket and went home. The first night ended with Xy and me completing our university registration. 02 July 2014 Woke up to a delicious breakfast prepared by Xy's cousin (pizza + bread with jam + milk) We set off on a 3 hours car ride to Izu for the Panorama Park that was popular in the area. Had tickets for a two way cable car ride. Ate our very first soft serve ice cream (strawberry flavoured) on top The Panorama Park's main attraction would be the clear view of Mount Fuji (on a clear day). There were other interesting things like the temple, the nice greenery and the swing on top of the hill. Lunch was served at the buffet provided at the base of the hill. Xy's cousin booked a traditional Japanese hotel for us. It was the first time I wore a yukata, bathed in a traditional public bath and soaked in the hot spring. I don't think I would ever forget this experience at the hotel. We had a traditional Japanese dinner provided by the hotel restaurant as well. I have my own set of opinions about the dinner but I should highlight that it was indeed, really traditional. 03 July 2014 Had a traditional breakfast prepared by the hotel restaurant again. We took some time to explore the place and take some commemorative photographs before checking out. Another long car ride to the Izu Teddy bear museum. Lunch at a Japanese lady's house + restaurant. Ate delicious hot soba noodles with tempura. Took our 3 hour car ride back to Chiba. Car rides with the two lil brats can be very tiring. The only thing that could keep them quiet was repeatedly playing the Princess Hours mv on Xy's iPad for them. (weird, but yes) We ate Chinese food for dinner that night. 04 July 2014 The first day that Xy and I throw ourselves into the Jap sea without her cousin's help. We woke up early to travel to Shibuya and Shinjuku. We had our fair share of the Japanese railway madness. Trend #02: Many Japanese carry long umbrellas instead of the foldable kind. While travelling, I thought I saw 2AM's Jokwon at the station. :O Started our shopping at Shibuya 109! (8 floors in total) My very first shopping item was a cap >:) Trend #03: After making a purchase, some shop keepers like to walk you out of the shop before handing you your purchases. Trend #04: It is a norm for Japanese shop keepers to be shouting and promoting outside and inside the shop. (Though it can be very very very noisy) Trend #05: Shops that sell clothes usually have shop keepers who are tall, pretty and put on loads of make up Trend #06: Japanese girls like to wear socks when they wear heels/ platforms. (which I find quite disturbing) Afterthat, we went to Shinjuku for dinner of omelette rice~ (We skipped lunch cause there was no time) There was great communication breakdown when ordering food btw, so it's always recommended that you bring some form of dictionary or have somebody who can speak Jap with you. Trend #07: Somehow, the exits from train stations can lead you to various places such as a branded goods shop, a random street etc. That night, when we took the train back home, it was really crowded and noisy. Whoever said that train rides were quiet/ you can't talk/ you can't use your phone is totally wrong. 05 July 2014 Packed and left Xy's cousin's house for the student hostel at Asakusa (on Ginza line). There was clear instructions on how to get to Khaosan Tokyo SamuraI! We spot an interesting structure and I named it Sun Wu Kong's cloud though it's supposed to be representing Asahi (a beer). We did some laundry before leaving the hostel for a free imperial palace tour at the Tokyo station. Had lunch at a restaurant called "Tsubame Kitchen". (If I had to choose my favourite meal, it would be this one - Seafood gratin, tomato salad and bread. The tomato salad was literally a tomato btw and yes, Winnie ate a whole tomato.) Nearly missed the free tour because we mistook the meeting place: station entrance as the station exit. Travelled to Ginza station which was apparently something like Orchard road in Singapore. We shopped at a whole Uniqlo building there which had many items on sale. Xy suggested that we ate Macs for dinner that night and while we were on our way there, we got held up at this makeup/health store called Matsumoto Kiyoshi. Attention: you'll see this store everywhere you go!! If you go to Japan, your friends will probably ask you to help them buy stuff there! Anyway, so Xy's friends asked her to help them buy stuff from there so we kinda got held up before we finally reached Macs for our dinner. Japan macs was really disappointing for me. 1. No chilli sauce 2. Healthy fries 3. Healthy burgers We travelled back to our hostel later on. Funny how we nearly got lost. The hostel toilets and shower rooms were awesome. (I literally look forward to showering and sleeping every morning after we set off from the hostel to our various destinations) 06 July 2014 We had our breakfast at Tomtom's bakery which was close to the building with SWK's cloud. It prolly was a disappointing meal for Xy cause she is quite picky with her food. We took a train to Odaiba which was an island newly designed for entertainment purposes. According to my notes, I wrote : we shopped like crazy! Maybe not luh.. Just that we bought aload of things here and there and even visited Daiso! Yes, I'm sure it was Daiso that added the weight to all the shopping. I got this weird tasting lemon drink from Daiso which was overly gassy. Avoid that, friends. I can't even remember clearly what the name of the building was but it was amazing cause it had a bowling alley, a gundam museum, a floor for arcade, a skate park and a rooftop for bbq + sports. I ate yoshinoya for lunch that day. It's really different from the one in Singapore. I ate Jap curry with cheese and rice~ We made our way to palette town for the Ferris wheel ride. (skipped the shopping cause we were super tired from all the walking) Next, we went to a place called the decks (beside the beach) for the Madame Tussauds Wax figurine museum and the Trick Art museum. Had dinner at one of the restaurants in the building next to it. The place had loads of feel~ Yummy dinner with a yummy chocolatey cake. I realised that food in Japan is not that expensive compared to Singapore. Especially when the restaurants have such beautiful decoration and the staff are so polite. 07 July 2014 1st week's over... A good start to a good morning with breakfast at Cafe De Crie. We travelled to Shimo-kitazawa station to meet up with Xy's friend. I saw this really pretty school girl waiting at the station. :) Trend #08: Japanese girls start putting on make up at a really young age and they are allowed to wear make up to school. Their skirt length also changes as they grow up. Trend #09: No matter where you go, the toilets in Japan will always have toilet paper! Trend #10: Japan's toilet paper is really thin unfortunately. (Part of their eco-friendly plan, I guess) We shopped along the cool shopping streets near that station which reminded me of Singapore's Haji lane but with much affordable prices definitely. We ate at the Nan station for lunch. They sold Indian cuisine and curry~ Shopped a little more here and there and had ramen for dinner. 08 July 2014 We ate our first Macs breakfast on our way to the Tokyo skytree in order to take a shuttle bus to DIsneyland. Tokyo skytree is really complicated so I suggest for anyone going there to get a map. There are also season themed performances that have a really celebratory mood which are worth catching though it can be quite difficult to get good seats Oh and lastly, for Japan's Disneyland, you can use your tickets to get "Fast Pass" tickets for certain rides. They will let you "cut queues" but at a certain time. It is really useful when you want to cover more rides! Rides we took: 1. Wet and splashy ride that was similar to Singapore Escape theme park's Wet and wild. (I was convinced by Xy to take this ride.. The waiting time was really scary and dark. But overall, I am proud to say that I made it through!) 2. Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Carousel 4. 3D Mickey orchestra (Xy's favourite) 5. Tea cups 6. Cinderella's museum 7. Car ride (Pretty restrictive though) 8. Big Thunder Mountain (My favourite ride from land) 9. 3D Mickey Orchestra (again) 10. Pinocchio ride... Er.... 11. Winnie the pooh ride :) I can't remember what we had for dinner that night... Wait, I can't remember if we even ate anything for dinner. 09 July 2014 Dabao-ed mac breakfast for the shuttle bus cause we woke up late. Trend #11: Japanese buses and trains are super punctual and leave on time. Travelled to Disneysea this time and it was unfortunately drizzling when we got there but the rides still went on in the slight rain. Rides we took: 1. Storm rider (4D) 2. Indianna Jones adventure ride (which was pretty enjoyable except for the fact that the kids sitting behind us were shouting like they've got their limbs amputated without anaesthesia) 3. 20,000 leagues under the sea 4. Journey to the center of the Earth (Xy only cause I chickened out) 5. Big Band Beat (a wonderful musical) 6. Tower of Terror (I have much to explain for this ride) 7. Jumping Jelly Fish 8. Teacups 9. Pufferfish flying candy ride 10. Short "Kiddy" roller coaster 11. Raging spirits (Roller coaster ride with a 360 degree turn) Alright, at the beginning of the trip, Xy made me promise to take 1 out of the 4 rides with her cause she knew I would chicken out : 3,4,6,11. After taking 3, she was pretty disappointed cause according to a review we found, the reviewer rated 10/10 for ride 3. But it wasn't scary at all because there weren't even seatbelts. So she really wanted me to choose out of the remaining three rides. I was quite adamant about not going for any other scary rides because I was so scared but while we were on our way to get the fast past ticket for ride 6, I have no idea what kind of possession I had, I agreed on taking ride 6 with her. I was damn freaked out even before the ride. My chest felt tight and my fingers went numb. I thought that it would be some kind of roller coaster ride but NO, they went straight to the free-fall. We were strapped into chairs inside the elevator. The very first time it went all the way up, they opened the windows to let us see the scenery outside before our drop. At the third drop which went all the way down, I could feel my body reaching terminal velocity... Although taking this ride has been mentally torturing for me, I kinda enjoyed it at the end... I guess. Are you proud of me? HAHA. Others may find this one mild but holy crap, it was so scary for me! And in the end, I willingly took ride 11 cause it looked fun! :) So, 3 out of 4! :) We ended early and rushed to Shibuya 109 to get the pair of sandals I saw and couldn't forget. Can you remember which was the day I went to Shibuya? HAHA Dinner at KFC because we were so hungry and tired! 10 July 2014 Earliest and fastest morning ever! We left the hostel at 845. It was reported that a typhoon was hitting an area nearby and we were only safe to wonder outside till 3pm. We visited the anime street that Xy researched and it was quite disappointing to me. There were aload of the M18 places and products at the area. We went to harajuku thereafter. My favourite Jap shop : Monki HAHAHAHA It was as fashionable as I thought it would be. I saw aload of crazy fashion from an Instagram page but turns out that prolly only 1 out of 100 would dress that way on that street. Travelled to Oshiage station (Tokyo skytree) because we wanted to eat the fresh fish restaurant along the way back to the hostel. Unfortunately, we didn't find it and ate at this steak + curry restaurant which was run by a father and son. The wind was really strong that night and we rushed to get some bread, snacks and drinks before heading back to the hostel. Xy made me pack all my shopping into the luggage to clear some walking area. We watched an episode of the anime Haikyu! before turning in for the night. 11 July 2014 We were so prepared to stay in the hostel till the evening but apparently, the typhoon came while we were sleeping soundly and left by the morning so it was safe to go out again! I woke up around 9:15am, had breakfast in the kitchen with xinyue and watched one episode of Free! before setting off. We met some Singaporean guys in the kitchen. Xy and I finished up 1.5 of the harajuku shopping lane. I ate creamy udon with shrimp and avocado for lunch and ate at some sushi shop for dinner. It was amazing how the sushi chefs would be preparing sushi professionally right infront of you. Xy didn't enjoy the sushi as much as I did cause she didn't like to eat fresh fish. We bought cake for breakfast along the way back. That night was quite shiok because we ate yoghurt and chips while watching another episode of Free! and some running man! 12 July 2014 This morning, we ventured to the Asakusa temple which was near our hostel. We spent some time at the "shopping street" to get some snacks to bring back to Singapore and prayed at the temple. Then, we visited the Ghibli museum. (In case you have no idea, Ghibli studio produces the Japanese animation films such as Ponyo, Spirited Away and Howl's moving castle) Afterthat, we went to eat some Japanese yakitori from a famous shop. They cook so much yakitori that there was loads of smoke coming out from that two storey building. The uncle there was quite rude though. It was one of the rare times I got quite pissed off in Japan. I shall not mention it. But anyways, it was probably because of the crowd and our inability to speak Jap. Later in the evening, we met up with Xy's friend again with the intention to go for a drink but according to the recommendation by the staff at our hostel, we ended up at a normal curry restaurant that played Jazz. HAHAHAHAHA! Dinner was delicious though. I ate omelette rice. The best one I've ever had so far because the egg was so so so buttery and the chicken soup was so yummy. Tea was served in elegant English tea cups. Lemon ice cream was sour and tasty and the orange cake was splendid as well. The only turn off was the ultra bitter coffee pudding :O The great thing about that evening was buying a new pair of shoes at around 16 bucks and my black bag / clutch thing. We even tried to play with sparkles that night but it was kinda fail. HAHAHA. Did aload of packing after going back to the hostel because we were checking out the next day! 13 July 2014 Checked out after 9am. Headed to Shimo-kitazawa to source for Xy's iPhone sticker which she couldn't forget. I had my second crepe of the trip. :) Lunch was at the nan station again and this time, I ordered a cocktail.. Cassis Orange, I believe. We travelled to the Tokyo skytree to do some light shopping. I bought a new wallet from there and somemore snacks. Had a little bit of KFC for "dinner". We went back to the hostel and saw the same staff who checked us in. Had a small chat with him till 7 plus and left. Trend #12: Many Japanese men prefer to be slim and fashionable instead of macho. :O wow, shocking indeed. Wanted to flag a cab but it would cost a hundred bucks and 2 hours. SO MANY things to carry but we made it in the end. Trend #13: Japan's train stations are less crowded on weekends! (Totally opposite to that of Singapore's) Reached Xy's cousin's house and packed again. Her cousin cooked us some chicken and huge ass prawns. SHIOK. 14 July 2014 Woke up at 4am to watch FIFA World Cup 2014 finals - Germany vs Argentina. Slept again and woke around 9 or 10 to pack up. Her cousin brought us to eat ramen and ice cream (DAMN GOOD) before sending us to the airport. We bade farewell there to her cousin. Did some last minute shopping at the airport duty free shops. Ate ice cream from the vending machine while waiting for boarding time. (The vending machines sell Haagen Daz at 290 yen!!!) On the trip back to Singapore, I watched 2 full movies - Man in Love (SOOOO SAD) and The alien Abduction. I watched part of The Pretty One. Slept away the rest of the time on the plane. Landed in Singapore, retrieved my baggage and gave Xy her surprise gift. :) _____ The next time I get the chance to go Japan again, I would definitely concentrate more on the food and scenery hunt! Would like to thank Xinyue so much for the itinerary and research she did and of course, the opportunity to travel with her! After coming back, I watched this anime which made aload of reference to some of the popular streets and stations in Tokyo. Do check it out if you're interested. Durarara! :) Alright, I practically spent almost the entire afternoon typing this blog post out. Great job, Winnie! Waiting for my dinner now and prolly will head downstairs to get a cup of bubble tea. Felt that I was rather healthy in Japan except for the meals which I kept craving for cheese. Japan is really into recycling and healthy lifestyle o_o Trend #14 The Macs in Japan requires patrons to separate their waste after their meal and pour away their trash. (It really gets on my nerves every time I eat Macs/KFC with Xy) Okay, so that's about all. Thanks for your kind attention! Until next time~ I really look forward to experiencing the beauty of our lives with the people whom I love~ Labels: Smilez everyday... On Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 5:17 PM |
